Agile Program Manager

Purpose:

Working for Flextronics Corporate IT organization means responding to fast changing business scenarios with new sites and customers being added at a fast pace. To respond to these requirements we are looking for a program manager that can help us manage a portfolio of projects related to our Agile system. The projects vary from new site implementation to changed / upgraded software implementation.

 

Although the job is primarily aimed at coordinating several ongoing projects you will also function as a project manager for some projects. As a program and project manager you will coordinate activities and provide leadership for staff in Americas, Europe and Asia. You should be able to provide leadership in a cross functional and multicultural environment.

 

The project management part includes engaging early with new sites, scope out projects, plan and ensure resource availability, set expectations within the organization, get project approval, manage the project through various stages, support and train users during go-live and then hand over to support. The projects can also include implementing new version or modifications to Agile. As a program manager you will provide leadership and support to other project managers within these areas as well as prioritizing between projects.

 

Home base is in San Jose, CA at the corporate headquarters but the job will at times involve traveling. You will be reporting directly to the Agile Solution Manager in Materials and Design Solutions Management Group that belongs to the Corporate Information Technology Organization.

 

Our working stile is very informal with emphasis on freedom to act under personal responsibility. You should be ready to take on major initiatives and provide leadership within your area of responsibility.

 

 

Principle Accountabilities:
Maintain and improve project methodologies for Agile projects.
Maintain and establish reporting venues for multiple projects.
Develop metrics and guidelines for Agile project management.
Project manage Agile projects.
Report program and project progress to management.
Interface between business and IT organizations.
Prioritize and escalate issues as necessary.
Maintain project schedules, plans, organizations and budgets.
Scope out new projects.
Interface with project managers in Americas, Asia and Europe.
Interface with Agile account representatives and technical specialists.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor or Masters Degree in electrical engineering or business systems or similar.
Working knowledge and experience in Agile systems.
Program and Project management experience in systems implementation and application management.
Ability to work with and understand business processes and systems.
Flexible and open personality.
Minimum 8 years relevant working experience.
