This position reports to the Manager of Information Solutions - Admin/Finance

This position will be located in Overland Park, KS

 

 

Summary

The Application Analyst II works in a team environment developing detailed specifications outlining programming requirements. Responsible for analysis, design, and implementation of moderately complex information system solutions using development methodology.  Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains these programs.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Acquires knowledge to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve all system problems and analyzes, installs, and tests upgrades application programs of medium complexity. Provides rotational 24 x 7 on-call support.Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs and specifications using efficient and cost effective design techniques.Codes screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems according to specifications using cost effective techniques.Consults with customer during design and test, and debugs programs during customer acceptance testing to attain customer approval. Trains end customers or technical support staff to use programs or sub system.Successfully manages small to medium projects following methodology. Analyzes and estimates time and cost of work as well as feasibility and compatibility with other systems.Participate in departmental or cross-functional quality activities as needed to improve work process or improve customer-supplier relationships.  Assist more senior staff members to train and orient new team members in departmental functions or customers in system related functions.Understands and applies company standards, methodologies, processes, and procedures. Participates in the development of standards, tools, methodologies, processes, and procedures across the organization.May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

3 - 5 years Unix (vi & scripting) experience  3 - 5 years Oracle experience  3 - 5 years Mainframe experience  3 - 5 years JCL experience  3 - 5 years Cobol experience

Preferred:  PeopleSoft Financials  SQR  PeopleCode  Application Engine  Application Designer


Education and/or Experience:
Four year college degree, or three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
