Experience Required:
Minimum experience 3-5 years, Design and development of mainframe application programs using COBOL and IMS. Ability to work with changing priorities and multiple tasks with aggressive and short time commitments. Ability to effectively work with clients to analyze their business specifications, in order to determine the needed technical requirements.
Ability to effectively work with application teams to analyze their technical specifications.
Ability to manage and successfully handle a challenging workload.
Education:
College Degree - Preferred
Major preference: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science
Skill Required:
The scope of this job is to create detailed technical specifications, develops application and system code, participates in code reviews and module testing, and supports ongoing maintenance. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with our clients, system and business, to develop requirements and code IMS/Customer Database (CDB) audits, corrections and refunds that apply to the CDB.
Description Overview:
Analyzes and reviews business, functional, and high level technical requirements. Designs systems. Provides input into detailed project estimates and workplan. Programs / develops code for system changes or new modules. Participates in code review. Plans and conducts module and basic integration testing. Performs production support and troubleshooting, and maintenance. Prepares and packages code elements for production deployment.
Accurately documents design, code, and other work. Prepares and conducts structured code review. Prepares accurate test plan and data and tests modules. Participates in testing reviews. Tracks and resolves simple to intermediate defects. Assists in production support activities by determining the nature, impact and extent of the problem. Provides Technical Assistance. Makes specified changes. Analyze and validate business and technical specifications provided by application teams and business. Transfer acquired specifications into COBOL/IMS applications for auditing the CDB and identifying impacted customers. Utilizing audit results as input to testing COBOL/IMS applications for correcting the CDB. Interface with multiple applications teams, internal and external to develop accurate audit requirements specifications

Department Overview:
The purpose of the department is our department (Policy Issuance Infrastructure) is comprised of three divisions. They are: (1). The Policy Master File Support division. (2). the Propagator Division, and (3). The Book of Business (BOB) Infrastructure/Communications/EFT/EDI/Visuals division. The Policy Issuance Infrastructure organization supports mission-critical applications and processes that are utilized by, or are common to, all other areas of Policy Issuance Infrastructure. This includes non-line specific functionality in ALSTAR, agent remittance processing, visual display functionality, risk management processing, scheduled activity processing, policy master file update and interfaces to all back-end legacy systems. This job would be with our Policy Master File Support division within Policy Issuance Infrastructure. The Policy Master File Support division processes Customer Data Base (CDB) audits, policy corrections, and refunds. We accomplish this by analyzing and validating business and technical specifications through interfacing with outside application teams and the business to gather requirements. Subsequently, our area designs, programs, tests, and implements the Corrective Action activities.
