Application Developer/Support Analyst

Funimation Productions, Ltd. is a full-service brand management company with in-house production, marketing, public relations, licensing, Internet, home video distribution, and sales. 

 

 

Position Overview

Identify and analyze user requirements and recommend appropriate

applications or modifications to existing systems.  Develop, install, maintain

and modify internal applications and integration with common desktop

applications based on business requirements.  Provides support to the users

of all the in house applications and common desktop applications in use

within the division.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities

? Investigate user problems and needs, identify their source and

determine possible solutions.  Make recommendations based on

business requirements for new systems.

? Meet with user and business process owners to identify and

prepare system requirement documentation.  Review requirements

documentation with the user groups or business process owners to

ensure agreement on projects.

? Contribute through code/algorithm development and other means

the development of applications and interfaces to existing systems

based on requirements documentation.

? Develop and provide training to users on new and existing

systems.

? Document all application changes in adherence to established

change management procedures.

? Work closely with the Senior Application Support Analyst to ensure

database requirements are properly addressed.

? First and second level end user support of all web based

applications.

? Monitor and maintain confidentiality and security of all company

data.

 

Secondary Job Responsibilities

? Administration and support of company network and telephone

 infrastructure.

? First and second level end user support of all desktop

applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, various

Adobe applications.

? Provide on the job training to new team members.

? Attend development meetings with users and departmental

managers to determine application needs.

 

Requirements

? Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills are required.  This

is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

? Excellent troubleshooting and customer services skills.

? Excellent communications and documentation skills both verbal

and in writing.

? Basic understanding of flow charting and database design tools

for documentation.

? Good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite and how it is

implemented.  Clear understanding of DNS, FTP, and various

implementations of HTTP/S servers to include but not limited to

Apache and Microsoft IIS.

? One or more years of experience with PHP and mySQL open

source application development.

? One or more years of experience of application programming

using C# and asp.net or similar web based application development. 

Knowledge of SQL 2000 and SQL 2005.  Experience in writing Stored

Procedures and basic SQL scripts a plus.  

? One or more years of experience in the installation, support and

administration of the Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.

? Two or more years of experience in the installation, support and

administration of the Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems.

? Two or more years of experience in the installation, support and

administration of the Microsoft Windows Office Applications as well

as other common desktop applications currently in use.

? One or more years experience in the installation, support and

administration of local area networking hardware.

? May be required to work evenings and weekends in response to

support and project issues to minimize downtime during production

hours.

? Carrying a company provided pager as part of after hours support

rotation.

 

Working Conditions

? Working conditions are normal for an office environment.  The

ability to lift computer equipment as needed, up to 50 pounds.

? Some travel and work within a warehouse environment may also

be required when supporting end users.
