Application Support Engineer

Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Developer to join the Corporate E-Learning Systems Team for Wells Fargo & Company. As a member of the larger HR Systems Group, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of 120 technology professionals in 3 locations, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Phoenix. Your career within the HR Systems Group will not limit you to E-learning systems, but will also provide you with the opportunity of working on a variety of system applications that are used by the 150,000 plus Wells Fargo Team Members, 84 lines of business as well as the 1 Million plus, external job seekers.


In the role of the Sr. E-Learning Developer your responsibilities will include:

? Developing and implementing new functionality within the Learning Management System (LMS) to address business needs.
? Loading courses to centrally hosted content servers.
? Troubleshooting course playability and tracking issue with the LMS.
? Designing, developing, and implementing LMS reporting functionality.
? Working closely with 3rd level Technical Support to develop bug fixes within defined Service Level Agreements.
? Working with other technical teams to ensure system and hardware capabilities can handle increased volume of users.
? Designing, developing, and implementing scripting to optimize PeopleSoft and maintenance jobs.
? Developing web forms.
? Developing process workflows to optimize problem reporting resolution cycle.
? Proactively identifying changes that affect the production environment.
? Acting as a mentor and expert technical resource for development team


Minimum Qualifications: As the ideal candidate you will have the following experience and skill sets:

? 5+ years of software development experience.
? In-depth knowledge and work experience with relational databases with focus on Oracle (8i, 9i or 10g)
? Strong Oracle PL/SQL query optimization skills
? Experience with either UNIX or Windows Servers
? Experience with maintaining and configuring J2EE, JSP and JVM applications
? Experience with Microsoft-centric web development technologies (.NET, C#, ASP, VB, COM, JScript)
? Excellent communication and documentation skills


Preferred Skills: Preferably you will also have the following:

? Experience with Centra Virtual Classrooms, Macromedia Breeze, SABA LMS, and the Sum Total LMS.
? Applied experience in working with software development methodologies and processes.
? Experience with .NET, C#, CGI/Perl, XML, HTML, JSP, ASP.
? 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems, especially in the area of content integration (SCORM and/or AICC).
? 1-2 years with analytical and aggregate reports development ideally using Crystal Reports, Business Objects or Active Reports
? Experience with web server technologies (IIS, Apache, or iPlanet/Sun ONE)
? Experience with application servers (BEA WebLogic, Macromedia JRun, Sun ONE and/or Tomcat)
