Application Support/SQL Server Support and Administration- ITPRO

****This is a 6-MONTH CONTRACT WITH POSSIBILITY OF CONTRACT-TO-HIRE with one of our CLIENTS*****

 

JOB DE SC RIP IT ION:

 

Seeking a skilled system support person with indepth knowledge and experience with COM+, SQL Server and DTS to support teams of developers.  Please take note this is not a Development Role.  Someone with prior development experience is usually a good fit.

 

Will work closely with developers in maintaining production and staging/test database servers, will implement systems developed by others, onto production servers. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

-Supporting the application development team and project,

-Set up of security for development and troubleshooting and resolving technology issues in the applications development environment and department.

-35-40% of duties include the support and troubleshooting of application development production jobs. 

 

Qualifications:

 

-2-3 years of relevant, in-depth experience providing operational, server and engineering support in an applications development environment. 

-Thorough understanding and knowledge of engineering application architecture and three-tier.

-SQL Server Administration & security experience. Knowledge and experience with DTS packages and  VBScript is required. The person also needs experience in administering FTP and Microsoft IIS, .NET, and COM+. 

-Experience and knowledge of Windows Security and SQL Server security.

-General networking knowledge, ie TCPIP, etc., must have general Windows Server experience and  knowledge, including Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, DFS, etc.

-Prior experience with applications development is a plus.

-There are no applications development duties.
