Application Systems Analyst

ObjectiveThe primary function of an associate analyst/programmer is to assist in the development and modification of proprietary information systems which includes both database and code components. This person will assist in preparing detailed specifications from which systems will be constructed, then design, code, test, debug, document and maintain those systems. This is considered an entry level position, staffed by a beginner with sufficient educational background and/or experience to qualify them to start in applications systems analysis and programming.  Approximate programming/analysis percentage split is 80/20.  Major Responsibilities and Job Activities? Understand how existing systems function and how best to make modifications?   Use Microsoft Visual Studio.net to modify existing internal programs? Gather and analyze system and user requirements? Create simple logical and physical software and database designs? Write object-oriented code to design specifications? Generate and execute software test plans? Debug programs and correct known errors? Write SQL database queries and scripts for ad hoc reports and data management? Create technical documentation for own and other legacy code? Assist with end-user support for existing information systems? Perform other system or data-related maintenance tasks as required

Job Requirements? Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field? 1+ years experience in all of the following technologies:–  Microsoft .Net Framework–  Object oriented programming –  Active Server Pages (ASP) and VBScript–  VB.net programming language–  Relational Database theory–  Structured Query Language (SQL)–  SQL Server Relational DBMS, including stored procedures and triggers? Working knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and the process to build quality applications? Ability to learn quickly and understand both detailed and big picture views? Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and to aggressive deadlines? Ability to organize and prioritize project work for maximal productivity? Ability to work collaboratively with others on a small development team? Excellent written and verbal skills
