DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of this position is to plan and manage production and development support for a number of vendor and in-house developed applications used by departments within the Everest Re Group. This includes managing the application support teams (business analysts and developers) in providing ongoing system development support and responding to production problems, environmental changes, and user requests. This position may also be responsible for technology vendor relationship management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage workload and overall performance of the application support team.Act as the primary point of contact between the application support team, the business units who use the applications, and other IT support teams.Perform project planning and management activities as necessary. Be responsible for understanding, validating, and implementing requirements and system changes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have 10-15 years of IT experience with 5+ years as a project manager.Must have a thorough understanding of all facets of project management and the systems development life cycle.Must have a good understanding of web and client-server technologies, database systems, data modelling, requirements gathering, and testing methodologies.Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills are required.Must be skilled in multi-tasking, working within a team environment, and prioritizing and managing the completion of projects within deadlines.Insurance/reinsurance experience is a plus.
