Applications Engineer

The senior-level Applications Engineer will contribute to any or all areas of application programming and development, testing, maintenance and support.  In addition the Applications Engineer will assist in functional design and requirements/needs analysis, technical/architecture design and application configuration and deployment.  A primary, but not sole, emphasis will be on (1) Microsoft-related applications (2) Reporting and Analytics applications and  (3) Internet/Extranet applications.

 

 

Representative responsibilities include:

 

? Design and develop interfaces between major corporate applications (e.g., Siebel, Great Plains, Agile, Datasweep) as necessary to promote efficiency

? Design and develop ?EDI? and Web Services / XML interfaces with external parties

? Lead efforts to gather and analyze reporting requirements in support of business needs

? Actively participate in the design, implementation and maintenance of corporate reporting solutions (including a data warehouse)

? Configure, administer and support the corporate Business Intelligence Tool - Business Objects

? Support a variety of ad hoc requests/inquiries from end users

? Providing on-going support, maintenance, and enhancement of applications and interfaces

? Support the design, implementation and administration of internet, intranet and extranet applications

? Experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)

 

Job Requirements

? BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

? 7+ years of IT/IS software development experience

? Extensive experience with Windows 2000 and Windows 2003

? Strong experience with relational databases, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, ADO.Net / ADO and ODBC

? Strong/significant experience developing web based applications using Web Services / SOAP, ASP.Net, IIS, XML, XSLT and XML Schemas

? Comprehensive development experience with Microsoft server technologies, including: VB.Net, JavaScript, VBScript, SQL, Visual Studio .Net 2003/2005, C#, COM, Active Directory and BizTalk 2004/2006

? Extensive experience with reporting tools (Business Objects XI preferred) and ETL tools (Business Objects Data Integrator XI preferred)

? Application experience and/or expertise preferred with:

? Siebel 7.5 or higher and Siebel EAI (COM Data Server and Web Services/ASIs)

? Great Plains 8.0 or higher and eConnect preferred
