Applications Manager

IT APPLICATIONS MANAGER-CHARLOTTE, NC

 

This position covers all responsibilities related to the day-to-day management of the applications (application management & support, application development, strategy) and resources that support those applications.

 

Major responsibilities include:Provide management, leadership, motivation and guidance to application team membersProvide strategic leadership for Dimension Data applications environment. Determine the proper approach for supporting new functionality.  Liaising with all Dimension Data business groups, External Service Providers and Vendors to ensure deliverables are met, relationships are maintained and improvements are implementedManagement of team and project expenditure within agreed budgetsUnderstand the scope, delivery mechanisms and processes of Services delivered by IT ServicesActively promote the IT Services business and customer service philosophyExecution of the IT Applications plan and strategies relating to delivery of IT application-based ServicesManagement of the day-to-day support and development functions of the applications teams, ensuring all services are delivered and reported according to service deliverables and processesParticipation in technical development, testing, and deployment of applications componentsEnsuring the Applications Groups have adequate facilities, tools and systems in place to deliver IT Services from a technical and business perspectiveDevelop a charter and road map that clearly defines the application group?s direction and 1-3 year planDesign, build, and manage a User Council Member ( UCM ) Team derived from the Dimension Data Business Units, who will act as single point of contacts for all IT initiatives.

 

 

Qualifications include:

? Minimum 8 years working in applications development and/or support in an IT organization

? Minimum 2 years experience managing resources in an IT organization

? Strong client focus showing empathy, understanding and readiness to get the job done to their satisfaction

? Strong experience with Oracle ERP

? Good leadership, management, and coaching skills

? Good verbal, written, and presentation skills

? Good analytical, organizational, co-ordination and conflict resolution skills

? High level of initiative, accountability, attention to detail and ability to follow process

? Self motivated, ability to work un-supervised as well as being able to work as part of a team.

? Proactive, flexible attitude to work with a willingness to constantly review and improve skills and process
