Excellent opportunity within the Emulex IT organization. The successful candidate analyzes, installs, and tests upgrades of software tool application programs. Installs, upgrades, and administers IT hardware as necessary to support the engineering tools. Creates scripts to enhance software tool effectiveness and/or facilitate interoperation of software tools. Monitors license inventory and usage. Manages the maintenance contracts for engineering applications. Provides budgetary input for proposed hardware, software, and maintenance costs.

Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience. Requires 3+ years experience working with Solaris operating systems, 1or more years of Solaris and/or Linux systems administration experience, and UNIX shell and Perl programming skills. Should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Desirable qualifications include hands-on experience with at least some of the following tools: ClearCase, Cadence, Synopsys, Valor, LSF.
