This position manages the IT infrastructure for the Amylin Ohio manufacturing facility, including the local and wide area network, telecom devices, Windows and Unix servers, storage devices, laptops, desktops and other technology systems. Additionally, this individual will hire, train and manage the local IT staff for the facility, including Network and System Administrators, desktop and laptop support staff, and other IT personnel. Provides vision and direction for future expansion and growth at the Amylin Ohio manufacturing facility, and ensure that quality, 7x24 support is delivered to our internal and external IT customers to ensure extremely high system reliability. Involves effectively planning, implementing and managing IT services for the Amylin Ohio manufacturing facility, in coordination with Amylin Corporate Information Management.
Responsibilities: Manage a staff of IT support personnel. Develop, in conjunction with local customers and corporate information management, a formal plan for current and future business support by the group. Provide infrastructure to support the deployment of IT equipment (PCs, laptops, printers, cell phones, pagers, etc.) to Amylin Ohio employees. Work closely with Corporate Training to develop and maintain a system to train Ohio employees on Amylin-supported equipment and software. In conjunction with the Network Engineering group, perform Network Administration of existing and new accounts in the Network and Telephony systems for Ohio facility. Create and maintain SOPs on standard support processes. Manage communication of support issues that have a broad or severe impact to Ohio facility. Perform Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management. Monitor performance of local network hardware, including servers, switches and routers. Maintain local network software, including upgrades to network operating systems, version control of workstation networking software, and planning of upgrades to local network applications. In conjunction with Network Engineering, modify and/or expand LANs/WANs to support new computer applications and increases in network usage. Interface with Facilities Engineering in planning data and voice cabling for facility. Provide physical security of all local network devices. Develop and maintain a business resumption plan for the local network. Maintain SOPs describing the procedures to be followed in documenting both planned and unplanned changes to local network systems. For local facility, configure and set-up new workstations, laptops, printers, phones, printers and digital senders. Work closely with the Service Desk to resolve work orders. Maintain inventory levels of miscellaneous computer accessories (i.e., cables, mice, keyboards, etc.) to meet foreseeable needs. Move user workstations, including phones, to various locations, as requested by the Facility Services Department. Assist with Video Conferencing as needed.
Requirements:BA in Information Technology and 5 years experience managing enterprise networks, servers and applications in a mission critical, manufacturing, production environment. Expert technical skills with Windows 2003 Server and Active Directory. Expert technical skills with Cisco network administration, including security subnetting configurations. Expert technical skills with at least one flavor of Unix. Experience in developing and implementing SLAs and OLAs and measuring performance against them. Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing a plus. Good understanding of the Information Technology Information Library (ITIL).Familiarity with 'control net' and 'device net' systems, and PLCs.Familiarity with cGMP regulations (21CFR210 and 211) as they relate to IT systems a plus.Excellent customer service, project management and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to hire and lead a team, be an active listener, and mentor.
