Associate Director, Information Management

Manages delivery of all IT Services in support of NIBR in Emeryville California.

Minimum requirements:

? Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline, computer science, engineering or mathematics
? At least 5 years of professional expertise in the Information Technology industry
? A demonstrated track record of leading major technical implementations
? A demonstrated track record of performing systems analysis and developing user requirements
? Demonstrated experience specifying, negotiating, administering and monitoring IT support contracts
? Demonstrated supervisory experience with small teams of skilled workers
? Strong communications and presentation skills

The ideal candidate will have:

? An advanced degree in Computer Science or Business Administration
? Experience in Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Biology or pharmaceutical research and development environ-ments.

Desired characteristics:

? Experience managing or delivering IT Services to biotech, pharmaceutical or life sciences industries
? Experience managing a budget

Major Accountabilities:

? Manage all aspects of requirements, budget, quality and performance of IT services in support of business (research) IT activities
? Manage all IT operation and maintenance activities
? Fund and resource teams that plan and execute local IT projects
? Coordinate delivery of IT services and projects between internal staff, other Novartis organizations and support vendors ? Provide IT support in the form of systems analysis and project management

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum education: Bachelor's of Science
Desirable education: MBA or MS in scientific or engineering discipline
