Associate Programmer Analyst

We are recruiting an Associate Programmer Analyst to join our Information Systems Department.

Summary:
Converts data from specifications and statements of problems to computer programming code for applications of high complexity.

Tasks:

Consults with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users to gather information about program intent, functions, features, data requirements, input and output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.

Designs or writes program specifications based on consultations with supervisor, systems analysts, other programmers, and end users. This includes layouts for onscreen user interfaces, printed outputs, and interfaces with other systems.

Converts designs and specifications into computer code.

Compiles code into programs, tests, analyzes, and corrects errors detected in compile process.

Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs, and specifications. Reviews user and technical documentation written by others to confirm consistency with program operations.

Modifies and maintains software programs and provides ongoing maintenance and technical support, including on-call support for production applications as needed.

Trains end users or technical support staff to use and support program.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Good technical knowledge of advanced technology, business applications, development methodology, programming languages, databases, operating systems related to the area.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and lead small projects with minimal supervision.

Team oriented.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Certification in computer programming languages and operating systems.

1+ years design, analysis and programming experience. A combination of education, certification, knowledge and less experience may qualify.

Good technical knowledge of VB, VB Script, ASP, SQL Server, T-SQL, Crystal Reports and .Net desirable.

Healthcare experience a plus.
