Audio/Visual Cable Plant Technician

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team providing voice and data communications infrastructure and audio/video technology deployment and support for 2500 Employees within Snohomish County.  Our environment includes new cable infrastructure, a new data center, and new audio/video technology strategies including surveillance, video conferencing, and video arraignment.  The data network is primarily based on category 6 cable plant, CISCO IOS and related devices, which service over 20 remote sites connected via fiber, frame relay, T-1's, and private OC-12 services.  Responsibilities include systems administration, services administration, cable installation, audio, video and wireless infrastructure component installation and configuration.  The successful candidate will have to demonstrate a working knowledge of current cabling best practices, wireless 802.11, line-of-sight and 800Mhz technologies, and emerging audio and video technologies as they relate to the County?s diverse requirements.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Associates Degree or Vocational Technical Diploma, and two to three (2-3) years experience in a large-scale distributed cabling, audio, video, and wireless environment; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities.  Must pass job related tests.

 

Experience in Windows Systems, Internet Protocols (IP), 802.11A, B and G, and IEEE cabling standards is preferred.  Overall application presentation quality and the demonstration of outstanding communication skills are essential.

 

Application and Supplemental required:  Application and Supplemental will be rated according to educational background and experience with systems administration and implementations and, project management experience.  Candidates for employment must successfully pass a criminal background investigation, which includes fingerprinting.
