Who We Are:  In 2004 Chase Card Services completed the industry's largest-ever systems conversion, moving millions of accounts to a more robust 3rd party processing system. One of our many goals is investing in technology initiatives designed to position the Chase brand for long-term growth. The next key milestone in controlling own destiny is expanding the newly established Core Processing team with the knowledge and experience necessary to migrate our credit card processing to our new state of the art data centers.

 

The Chase Core Processing team is responsible for the migration, maintenance, and enhancements of the accounts receivable, settlement, and authorization systems for Chase Card Services.  When fully implemented, the team’s applications will support the processing of more than 90 million credit card accounts on a daily basis.  The Core Processor team mission and guiding principles are to deliver robust, world class and efficient core processing technology for the credit card business.  Working in close partnership with our business and IT colleagues, we will be champions of customer focus, speed to market, technical excellence, integrity, respect and teamwork. 

 

What You’ll Do: As an Production Support Application Developer on the Authorizations team, you’ll have overall responsibilities to:
Participate within the development life cycle and work directly with other members of the development and project management teams
Work with established technical specifications to deliver defined functionality with guidance from a more senior developer or development manager.
Developing code in support of one or more of the MyTsys Authorization Platform subsystems
Work within Chase Card Services prescribed development methodologies and standards. 
Support code changes/applications post implementation by debugging, fixing, and participating in maintenance releases as needed.
Become knowledgeable and familiar with the overall MyTSYS platform, and subject matter expert on your particular subsystem. Travel may be required for training on the MyTSYS platform

 

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be expected to:
Provide production application support assistance to triage and resolve problems.
Understand technical specifications and use them to build application code, test and implement strategic applications
Develop error free, highly efficient code that complies with all code standards and methodologies.
Generate detailed technical documentation of code, JCL, run streams and associated functional processing flows
Provide first call level production support for the suite of applications
Participate on a rotating on-call production support schedule



What We’re Looking For: The Core Card Services Authorizations team is looking for Application Developer Leads who will thrive in a dynamic work environment and are interested in participating and leading in the delivery of quality software code. In addition, strong candidates will possess:

 
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience in mainframe programming
5 - 10+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology
5-10+ years of experience with large mainframe applications having knowledge in areas as COBOL, VSAM, DB2, JCL, CICS, IMS, Mainframe Assembler, EasyTrieve, CA7, Logical and Physical Data Modeling, MQSeries.
3+ years of experience leading development teams.
Experience and ability to work with third party products / partners such as Fair Isaacs (Triad, ProfitSight, CardGuard).
Extensive experience with change management, implementation planning and release management.
Extensive experience in code management and versioning methodologies with experience with a leading code management tool.
5+ years of credit card point-of-sale authorization processing experience and TSYS knowledge are required.
In-depth understanding of the credit card processing, real-time point-of-sale authorization processing, and a broad knowledge of the TSYS platforms
Good oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
