Automated Tester with Rational Tools: 80K - 95K

Our client, one of the most respected publicly-traded IT services firms in the DC metro area, is searching for a Test Automation Engineer with experience using Rational's testing tools to join its team in Fairfax, VA.

In this role, you will provide expertise in test automation to several software product engineering teams. In particular, your responsibilities will include the following:
working with software development teams to determine the approach for test automation configuring the Rational automated testing tools for the project teams creating and executing automated test scripts mentoring others on test automation maintaining the Rational testing tool environment


As this role is part of the Rational Tools team at our client, you will also have the opportunity to work with and learn how to use and administer other tools in the Rational suite, such as ClearQuest, ClearCase, ProjectConsole, and RequisitePro.


REQUIREDUS citizenship or Greencard very strong verbal communication skills and a consultative mindset strong skills in software test automation of graphical user interfaces (GUI) using Rational testing tools (XDE Tester, Functional Tester, RobotJ) experience writing custom automated scripts, not just record-and-playback experience coding in visual basic (VB), java, or perl


DESIRED (if you don't have this experience already, our client will teach you)
experience installing/configuring the Rational testing tools, including TestManager experience working with and configuring Rational ProjectConsole experience working with and configuring Rational ClearQuest experience using ClearCase

The salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000 per year based on experience. In addition our client offer the following benefits:
