BUSINESS ANALYST - Owings Mills, MD  I- 198


IFMC is a successful leader in creating customized information management systems and is currently seeking a professional Business Analyst to enjoy a successful career with us in our Owings Mills, MD office.  

This position is responsible for ensuring successful assessment and documentation of client business processes as part of IFMC implementation projects, and specifically for coordinating business requirements and IT support for a national website devoted to healthcare quality improvement ( http://www.medqic.org ).

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

? Gather requirements from members of the stakeholder community and track progress of each through approval process. Lead meetings, teleconferences, email discussions etc. as needed to reach clarity on all requirements.

? Assist in collaboration with resources to ensure all system design requirements adequately reflect the defined business processes and fully support all components of the functional business requirements.

? Document all requirements for system design, implementation & training. Create formal requirements and related documents as needed and maintain documents through change management process.

? Create data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and HTML prototypes as needed to demonstrate requirements to development team.

? Assist with administration of Content Management System; serve as training resource for team members and partners. Serve as back-up for other team members working in Content Management System.

? Create test plans and training materials relevant to the approved systems; coordinate with members of QA and development teams throughout formal testing processes.

? Train team members and partners on features and functionality of new product releases.

? Monitor products after delivery for defects; track and test resolution;

? Lead efforts to make reporting of web data more robust and current; provide analysis and suggest improvements based on the data 

? Other duties may be assigned.

 

Qualifications:

? A Bachelor?s degree or equivalent, preferably in an IT-related field

? 2-3 years experience as a team member on web- based technology projects. Experience in healthcare technology projects a plus.

? Minimum 1-2 years business consulting or project management experience. Business process re-engineering and requirements analysis skills needed.

? Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills mandatory. Ability to write clear, accurate technical prose essential. Must be able to identify and obtain clarity on requirements often through verbal discussion. Strong attention to detail and consistent follow-up on changes impacting work required.

? Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

? Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

? Ability to read communication styles of team members and clients who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

? Experience implementing client server and/or web based applications

? Computer knowledge/skills with the following: Windows XP, Microsoft Office Suite; experience with SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, website content management software, Requirements management software, MS Visio, HTML & JavaScript, Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver needed

? Experience with data flow diagramming helpful.

? Ability to travel.
