TAMKO Building Products, Inc. is seeking an BW Developer.
General Objectives of BW Developer:
Develops, maintains, enhances and supports all aspects of SAP BW development objects, including extractors, InfoSources, master data objects, data targets and reports.
General responsibilities include:
Coordinating business requirements gathering efforts with the SAP functional team and business users.Design the data solution to satisfy defined business requirements.Identify the data in the source environmentMap the data to the BW environment.Work with basis team members to identify, construct, and support the most appropriate system landscape for the BW implementation.Develop the Data Model.Establish connections to the BW data sources.Activate (and extend / modify where necessary) standard business content.Activate Business Content data targets including InfoCubes, ODS structures, and flexible master data objects. Develop custom structures as required to meet business requirements.Assist security team members with authorization profile development and system / data access.Develop queries and reports as required to meet business reporting requirements.Test all aspects of system configuration and query development.Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior members of the functional support teamPrioritize work requests for junior members of the support teamParticipate in business area discussions that may impact the current or future direction or configuration of the BW.
SkillsTwo to three years of SAP BW development and configuration experience. Should have experience with the NetWeaver 4, BW 3.5 platform. Significant Data Modeling experience. Must be able to develop and understand the business reporting requirements and design and develop the appropriate data model to meet these requirements.Significant experience with SAP/BW data extraction processes including the LO-Cockpit, other delivered SAP extractors and the design and development of generic extractors.Significant experience with DataSource, extractor extensions and modifications to include custom development objects.Knowledge of the customer exits for custom development and enhancement of master data and transaction data sources.Working knowledge of the APO Demand Planning module and the BW APO interfaces, including export DataSources and the use of data marts to move data between the two systems.Extensive knowledge of the BW Transport system. Ability to create transports for both configuration objects and queries. Must be able to problem solve and correct transport issues.Experience with the development and maintenance of process chains to facilitate data loads from source systems.Significant experience with the BW report development tools such as Query Designer and BEx Analyzer.Experienced with performance monitoring and tuning as required in a production environment.

Education and/or Experience
Four year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 3 years of ABAP experience. 2-3 years of SAP BW 3.5 experience.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Specific Requirements for BW Developer
2-3 years of SAP BW 3.5 Design and development experience. ( This is very important)
3 years of ABAP experience.
Experience with SAP ETL Techniques Knowledge.
Hands-On experience in LO-Cockpit Extraction procedures and Logistics extractors in General (Inventory, Sales and Distribution etc).
Hands-On experience in FICO module (AR, AP, GL, CCA, PCA, COPA customizing),MM, SD and APO .
Create generic data sources using tables/functional modules, enhance standard data sources, where required?.
BW Front-End knowledge :- Creation of queries using BEX (Business Explorer) web & WAD (Web Application Designer), calculated and restricted Key Figures, Variables etc.
Good knowledge of BW processes and data flow - Ability to deliver End to End solutions.
Extensive knowledge on Transport system.
Experience on creating Web Templates.
Good knowledge on Data Modeling and Data Warehousing techniques
Extensive knowledge about Process Chains.
Experience with SAP R/3 functional skills on FI, CO, PP, SD, Inventory and APO
Should have Hands-On experience with ?.
o PSA, ODS, Cubes, Multi-Providers, Info Packages & Process Chains.
o BW info Objects, Info Sources & Source Systems.
o Maintaining update & transfer rules.
o Performance techniques such as compression, aggregates & rollups.
o Activation & extraction of BW standard business content.
o Monitoring & troubleshooting data loads in BW.
o Monitor Production performance and fine tune extractors and processing as appropriate.
Keep informed about SAP's BW technology direction and gain expertise to make use of existing and newly added functionality.
4 year college degree, preferable in Computer Science.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to build strong working relationships with functional project teams.
