Back-End Java Developer

Our banking client in San Francisco , CA is looking for Back-End Java Developers for the following 6-month contract:

 

Description:

Use advanced knowledge of JAVA, Oracle databases, Advanced SQL, and design patterns to enhance/develop Web application components.

 

Basic, Required Skills:

Java, J2EE, Advanced SQL, UNIX, J-Unit 

 

Required Experience:

At least 5 years of experience (the more the better)

 

Ability to apply extensive knowledge of JAVA, Oracle databases, Advanced SQL, and design patterns, to enhance/develop application components.

 
Solid working knowledge of JDBC 2.0
* Experience with large databases.
* Solid experience working with SQL.
* Experience with web services (desirable)
* Prior experience working with: J-Unit
* Person must have the ability to read existing code and refactor it for performance improvement.
* Ability to understand the business requirements and implications of the existing code base
* Experience in implementing performance improvements to existing code.
* Candidate must be able to develop unit test cases for any given piece of code to support financial transactions.
* Must have delivered production quality code and supported production applications in a financial services environment (brokerage or banking).

Responsibilities include:
* Decomposition of complex business and technical problems
* Authoring Design and Technical Specifications and related technical artifacts (Unit Test Plans, Release Notes, Troubleshooting Guides, etc.)
* Java Programming
* Developing and maintaining J-Unit test scripts
* Understanding of Batch Processes
* Execution of Tasks and Status Reporting
* Support Production Install and post production support
