Business Analyst (Entry Level)

Job Summary: Assist in the enhancement and implementation of new or existing applications to support the Nordstrom platforms for credit, debit and thrift products.

Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate resolution of system functionality issues by escalating to external processors as necessary and updating users.
Prepare, execute and verify results of test scripts for system enhancements or new applications developed by external processors or internal development. Communicate problems found in testing new enhancements or options to appropriate personnel.
Log and submit option maintenance, additions or changes, problem tickets and project requests to external processors.
Attend status meetings to exchange updates on projects and issues with manager and/or systems personnel.
Prepare training materials for department staff to support new or modified initiatives.
Update documentation manuals as needed. Prepare documents for regulatory agencies.
Coordinate documentation of project requirements with the appropriate business and/or systems personnel.
Audit appropriate platforms to ensure transactions transmitted or received are accurate. Perform daily system balancing and periodic statement audits as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school or GED diploma is required. Bachelor?s degree in business or information systems is preferred.
Minimum of three years of job related experience is required. Over five years of credit experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) in a Windows environment with an intermediate level of proficiency in word processing (Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications is required.
Proficiency in Mercury Quick Test Pro, Mercury Test Director, Internet design/customer support, Visio and Business Objects (Credit Data Warehouse application) is preferred.
General knowledge of Nordstrom systems and/or outsourcing systems is preferred.
Ability to apply excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage shifting schedules (including after normal business hours) and maintain a high level of quality and accessibility to users.
Ability to apply problem-solving skills to multi-faceted issues that need to be researched and resolved.
Ability to understand business processes and identify changes for issue resolution or projects.
Ability and willingness to work after-hours and weekends and participate in 24x7on-call rotation as needed.
