The role is responsible for supporting the IT Finance Manager in strategic programs and initiatives that affect the financial operations of the Sandoz US Organization. The projects consist of cross functional projects which drive efficiencies and synergies into the overall Finance process. One or more projects could be managed concurrently. The role will work in conjunction with IT Finance Manger on agreed upon projects across the Finance organization. This role will report directly to the IT Finance Manager and interact with key Finance contacts and will play a consultative role to the Finance organization. In addition this role will have the responsibility of identifying areas for continuous improvement in the Financial systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

In conjunction with the IT Finance Manager, this role will help determine project approaches, resources, responsibilities, and schedules. Develop and/or review estimates and estimating assumptions for the project's schedule, effort, and cost, best practices, and past experience.

Provide support to the IT Finance Manager with the following:

Defining team member roles and expectations, and ensuring timely feedback.

Reviewing, tracking and being responsible for, the overall development and integration of requirements.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Project Management Plan, including the configuration management, risk management, issue management, and communication plans.

Ensuring that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members and IT Finance Manager.

Managing relationships and coordinating work between different teams at different locations.

Ensuring that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions.

Reviewing and managing all changes to the requirements that may drive scope changes.

Representing the Program and/or Project team(s) at associated meetings with cross functional teams.

Ensuring that the project's assigned portion of the Business Case planned value is delivered and ensure that the end product fulfills the scope and meets the sponsor's expectations.

Ensuring that the organization capitalizes on it's investment by conducting Lessons Learned - Review process and recommends improvements

Project Closures - Close out all project documentation e.g. risk log, quality and project plans and updates.

Standardizing processes and look for disparity/synergies between processes and process documentation.

Managing cause and effect and systemic impact across all projects.

Prioritizing, influencing and coaching resources towards best outcome for the business.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 5-7 years of relevant experience managing projects across an entire organization. Strong Financial background is required.

Knowledge and experience with SAP

Strong consulting and interpersonal skills

Program and Project Management skills

Ability to prioritize and multi-task

15-20% travel required

Strong attention to detail and ability to summaries and communicate at all levels of the organization

Team player (displays enthusiasm, confidence & commitment)

Exceptional communication ability (verbal & written)

Ability to work independently

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Facilitation and Leadership skills

Proficiency in use of all of the following: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Outlook, Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus
