Business Analyst - Global Portal

Job Description -- Overall Role: The Business Lead Analyst works with all business owners and IT team members to analyse, design, document, and implement solutions to business challenges in a B2E/B2C global portal and other web services.

Key Objectives and responsibilities of this role will include the following:
? Work with business, project managers, technical leads and developers to determine best approach to IT solutions.
? Define and document business requirements
? Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications
? Document technical requirements, system diagrams, and other deliverables
? Ensure quality assurance testers understand the specs and appropriate checkpoints are established for quality assurance, debugging, and defect tracking
? Attend system design reviews with developers, quality assurance testers, and end users
? Conduct impact assessment on applications when new functions/features are proposed or designed.
? Be involved with project plans detailing the expected level of effort and time required, and consistently meet the allocated milestones.
? Take the initiative to suggest new standards, implement new strategies, and take on special projects.
? Ability to create and execute test scripts based on functional requirements

Experience and/or Qualifications:
Prefer a Bachelor degree in MIS, Computer Science or equivalent field
Four to five years experience in business analysis.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
? Significant experience with portal and web service technologies
Working knowledge of SDLC and CMM ?
Must have strong diagnostic skills
? Must have strong communication and organisation skills; multi-tasking and time management skills are essential
? Must have cross-functional business and application knowledge
? Must have enough technical background to be able to create proper functional requirements and detail specifications.
? Must be able to take direction well but work independently, and have the ability to learn and assimilate information quickly.
? Must demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, personal integrity, problem solving ability
? Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project) tools
? Proficiency in HTML Editor tools
? Technical aptitude to learn new software quickly
? Ability to break down business problems into logical tasks
? Ability to think creatively
Provide functional IT expertise for the assigned application as appropriate for development and application support
Ability to provide On Call Support if needed during evenings and weekends on a rotating basis
Work closely with the technical staff to determine the appropriate solution to client requests for change
Ability to work with details as well as the big picture
Flexible and dynamic interpersonal techniques in dealing with clients and developers
