Business Analyst Manager

JOB SUMMARY: The Encounters Market Manager serves as the subject matter expert and primary contact for assigned market(s). The incumbent facilitates AMERIGROUP?s submittal of timely, accurate, and complete encounter information to assigned market(s) as outlined in the state?s contract. The Encounters Market Manager will work with the state governments, AMERIGROUP state resources, IT and other business units to identify and implement improvements to the encounters process.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as primary company representative for assigned markets

Account executive for state agency ? address agency problems and concerns by facilitating timely and comprehensive responses to resolve the situation and alleviate concerns



Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key state contacts responsible for AMERIGROUP encounters administration to promote agency/company collaboration benefiting company operations and activity



2. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with appropriate Health Plan, State and

AMERIGROUP representatives, leverage relationships to resolve encounter process errors and

implement process improvements

3. Work with data analysts to determine root causes for encounter problems

4. Review, assess, and understand new and revised state contracts, identifying areas or

modifications that may impact encounter reporting requirements and processes

5. Own the implementation of contract change initiatives:

Draft recommendations for changes for leadership review and approval



Write business requirements



Partner with IT to implement system changes



Create communications and supporting materials for AMERIGROUP, provider and state agencies, as appropriate



6. Manage improvement initiatives for the encounter process

Facilitate project meetings



Prepare project documentation including: work plans, status updates, action item lists, lessons learned, project team communications, etc.



Identify and mitigate implementation issues and risks, escalate to leadership as necessary



7. Collaborate with other Market Managers to share solutions and implement initiatives across

markets

8. Develop and maintain resource tools to communicate state encounter submittal requirements

to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance assessments

9.  Monitor encounter performance reports

10.Manage customer expectations

11.Perform other duties as assigned or requested



Education and Experience:

Education

Required: Bachelor?s Degree in Information Systems, Health Care Management, and/or

Business

Preferred:

Years and Type of Experience

Required:

Minimum of 6 years experience, consisting of a combination of business or



systems analysis, healthcare industry, and/or project management.

Experience leading a project

Preferred: experience in a team oriented and/or productivity oriented environment

Specific Technical Skills

Required:

Experience in a team oriented and/or productivity oriented environment



Comprehensive claims processing knowledge,



Strong technical and data analysis skills



Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word



Strong customer service orientation



Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills, ability to identify problems and develop solutions



Strong analytical and organizational skills



Strong project management skills



Strong communication, presentation and team work skills. Good written communication skills



Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize contracts, regulations, policies/procedures, reports and legal documents



Ability to respond to questions/concern from internal customers and regulatory agencies and present company position in understandable and unambiguous manner



Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, delegate tasks and coordinate several projects at once in a demanding work environment



Ability to motivate and influence personal outside of direct scope of control
