Summit Technologies, Inc. has full-time employment and consulting opportunities in Hartford, CT for Business Systems Analysts with application development experience in the insurance industry.  The Analysts will be involved in various aspects of system analysis and testing.



Business Analyst / Systems Consultant

 

Key Responsibilities:Provide overall business systems analysis and design, including testing in fast paced, evolving environment. Troubleshoot software defects and implement solutions. Guide client and internal functional areas as appropriate through the development, testing and implementation processes and manage client expectations. Perform on-site system demonstrations and client application training, as needed. Identify and provide suggestions for innovative improvements of products. 

 

Experience:Strong Commercial and/or Personal Lines Experience. Strong business specification writings skills (ability to translate complicated concepts into easily understood terms). Professional presentations skills. Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Strong knowledge of Windows and Internet based applications (MS SQL server skills a plus) Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Ability to research and evaluate alternative approaches and recommend efficient and cost effective end-to-end solutions  Bachelor?s Degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in an information systems environment.5 years experience in an information technology environment, with an understanding of basic programming skills (HTML, JAVA, SQL, database design).
