Business Application Owner

Responsible for the delivery of a high performing sustainable payroll application suite, enabling the Employee Service Center's success. Partner with and support internal/external users in issue resolution and the development of new process and technical solutions. Maintain payroll system tables and ensure payroll system integrity. Provide application and payroll expertise leading to constant improvement for business. Maintain a strong partnership with internal teams, HRIT and HRIS to ensure delivery of application stability, documentation and training, system SLA scorecarding, work prioritization and drive successful delivery of application requirements, designs, testing and implementations.

Roles/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

' Supervisor Day to Day Support Activities:
o Ensure timely weekly payroll processing
o Ensure accurate and timely weekly spreadsheet uploads
o Prove and ensure timely and accurate response to internal and external report requests
o Set the goals of the support team
' Projects:
o Lead the testing efforts for issues and new work items
o Execution and planning of new work items
o Implementation of Tax Updates and upgrades
' Support ESC and field system users in the identification and resolve of payroll system and process issues
' Maintains and updates system tables and configurations
' Defines and approves application security
' Ensures system and data integrity
' Provides support in the Year-End/Quarter end process
' Provides support and implementation of scheduled tax updates and upgrades
' Partner with IT and HRIS to:
o Identify and research system issues and recurring issues (internal to our client and external with vendors and other applications)
o Recommend technical solutions directed towards sustainable root-cause resolution
o Complete requirements, designs, testing and production implementation for baseline fixes, application enhancements and upgrades
' Partner with IT and HRIS to:
o Maintain and update system tables and configurations
o Define and approve application security
o Ensure system and data integrity
o Work with the business functions to drive continuous improvement through identification and implementation of new value-adding process, application and reporting enhancements
' Provide business application ownership/leadership for PeopleSoft Payroll
' Provide in-depth knowledge and support of payroll applications to internal and external parties
' Partner with internal teams, external business units and vendors to improve and sustain ESC related processes and procedures
' Build and sustain the ESC relationship with IT and HRIS to improve the delivery of an integrated payroll system suite
' Partner with IT and HRIS to:
o Develop and deliver user documentation and training
o Monitor/manage system performance and IT/HRIS SLAs
' Develop new processes, procedures, SLAs and scorecards
' Prioritize baseline and enhancement work
' Complete baseline and application development
' Ensure a well-controlled financial environment by enforcement of the design of process control and by monitoring the operational effectiveness of activities within the process by:
o Ensuring accuracy of process documentation
o Ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of controls
o Complete regular monitoring of transactions to ensure effectiveness of controls
o Conduct and support quarterly risk assessment and testing processes
' Support any conversion or acquisitions to the Payroll Systems by doing the following:
o Designing, developing, implementing and executing the design of any conversion or acquisition
o Thorough test planning and scenario execution
o Successful conversion of an accurate and timely payroll transition
o Implementation preparation and support
' Actively participate and lead AOP planning initiatives

Qualifications

' 4 year degree in business/related field and/or relevant HRIS work experience
' PeopleSoft Payroll and/or system implementation experience a plus
' Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
' Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
' Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direction
' Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
' Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to team with multiple levels of internal and external business partners
