Business Intellegence Architect

    The Business Intelligence Architect is a subject matter expert on business intelligence tools.  The other architects on the team are subject matter experts on ETL tools, campaign management tools, and document management tools.  The team provides architectural leadership, installation/upgrade services, and acts as the highest level of technical support for hosted database marketing solutions.

 

The BI Architect is responsible for:
Developing and maintaining detailed technical knowledge of the numerous client implementations, as well as, understanding the business requirements that drive the client implementations
Mentoring front line support staff in resolving technical issues for clients
Designing, recommending, and driving the development of enhancements to client implementations
Leading collaborative design efforts and providing architectural guidance for client change requests

 
Maintaining expert level knowledge of the standard BI tools as new versions are released
Installing and evaluating new versions
Documenting evaluation plans and results
Develop written recommendations for integrating new features and enhancements into existing and future solutions
Plan and drive timely upgrades to maintain vendor support

 
Coordinating with operating system, network, and security engineers to ensure that target installation environments are set up correctly
Installing software and patches
Configuring and tuning software
User set up and management
Software administration

 

The BI Architects will be required to travel 10 to 20 days a year to lead requirements gathering, training, and design sessions.

 

Required:

 

3+ years Business Objects experience on Windows and IIS
Versions:  6.5, XI, and XI R2
Modules:  Supervisor, Designer, Business Objects, Web Intelligence, Infoview and Broadcast Agent, Set Analyzer
Installation, configuration, and tuning
Server and Repository Administration
Universe design and enhancement
Report design
Web Intelligence reporting
Trouble shooting application issues ? client and server
Report Scheduling
SQL Tuning
ODBC connectivity


7+ years open systems experience - Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux

7+ years relational database development experience ? Oracle, Teradata, DB2

10 years of IT experience:  hardware, network, software, programming

Bachelor?s degree

Experience upgrading BO
Experience with multiple implementations of BO in a single production environment:  document, universe, and security domains
Experience with BO on Unix
Experience with Cognos 7 and 8
