Business Objects Developer/Administrator

A dynamic IT firm in Rockville, MD is in search of a Business Objects Administrator/Developer.

The Business Objects Administrator/Developer will support the implementation and long-term maintenance of Business Objects. This position will assist a team of developers with the implementation of Business Objects and then be responsible for the ongoing administration and maintenance of the Business Object environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Writing Web Intelligence reports
* Gathering report requirements from end users
* Assisting end users with writing reports and performing ad hoc queries
* Defining and maintaining Business Objects Universes
* Supporting and maintaining the Business Objects servers and application suite
* Administering security settings
* Liaising with the vendor for upgrades and issues

Skills:
* Experience with the entire Business XI Application Suite
* Experience with Business Objects XI in a Data Mart or Data Warehouse environment
* Experience with dimensional, logical and physical data modeling for data warehouse/data marts
* Experience and knowledge of Business Objects SDK, including actual customization work with the SDK.
* Experience managing Business Object operations, mentoring staff, delivering and supporting quality, high-performance business systems.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in developing Business Objects reports, universes, VBA scripting, SQL, HTML.
* Working knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems
* Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to changes
* Ability to maintain own work flow and meet deadlines
* Ability to prioritize tasks to best meet departmental and organizational goals
* Excellent troubleshooting skills
* Ability to respond to frequent demands of multiple internal customers
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills
* Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team

Education / Experience:
* Bachelor*s degree in Information Systems or related field.
* 2-3 years relevant experience with the product.
* Or relevant combination of education and experience.
