Modis currently has a great position available for a Business Objects Developer - Reporting Specialist.  This position is a 6 month contract to permanent opportunity with a great company in Jacksonville Florida. 

 

Job Description

 

POSITION: Business Objects? Reporting Specialist

 

POSITION OBJECTIVES: The keys requirements of this role are Business Objects XI administration as well as Business Object Universe and Crystal Report creation and maintenance using Business Objects tools connecting to data located on a Microsoft SQL Server. 

 

ESENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

? Collaboration with other application developers to achieve overall team success.

? Develop complex stored procedures for Crystal Reports in SQL Server.

? Develop Crystal Reports.

? Develop Business Objects Universes.

? Develop C# tools to automate the migration process of Crystal Reports and Business Objects Universes through the development cycle.

? Develop new C# controls.

? A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

? Diagnose problems and implement corrective solutions.

? Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

? Maintain in-depth technical expertise in all areas of the Beeline 5.X application.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1)  Formal Education: Bachelors degree in a related area and at least 3 plus years of experience in the field or in a related area or 6 plus years in the field or in a related area.

2)  Business Objects BECP strongly desired.

3)  Microsoft certification strongly desired.

5)  Experience:

a)  3 plus years experience with report design and creation and enterprise reporting administration.

b)  2 plus years experience with complex SQL creation including the creation of views, procedures and functions for use in reporting.

c)  Understand business processes and the application of technology to implement them.

d)  Experience with all phases of development life cycle methodologies.

 

6)  Knowledge:

a)  3 plus years experience with report and universe creation using Crystal and Business Objects.

b)  3 plus years experience managing Enterprise level reporting solutions using Crystal Enterprise, Business Objects and Business Objects Enterprise.

c)  Proficient skills using XML, XSD, and Xpath.

d)  Advanced experience using SQL Server.

e)  Exposure to architecture methodologies.

f)  Thorough systems analysis and design skills.

g)  Client Side Scripting - JavaScript, including cross browser scripting.

h) Proficiency with Netscape 6.0 and above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and above.
