Business Systems Analyst - COBOL, IMS DB/DC, DB2

CIBER has an immediate need for a Business Systems Analyst in the Portland, OR area with the following skills.

 

Functions:

? Actively work with customers to analyze business needs, gather and document business and system requirements

? Facilitate meetings and document outcome

? Perform business process analysis ? AS IS /TO BE

? Application testing:  create test cases, complete system/integration testing, facilitate user acceptance testing

? Facilitate IT work estimates

? Document use cases and closely interact with developers

? Set technology direction in concert with ADT and IT standards

? Understand IT processes and work within designated guidelines

 

Minimum Requirements:

? Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

? Ability to work with customers, understand their business practices and manage their expectations

? Ability to analyze and document business and system processes

? Experience writing Use Cases 

? Ability to multitask and handle ambiguity

? Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion

? Ability to work in a cross-functional organization

? 5+ years of progressively responsible systems analysis experience or, equivalent work experience

? Ability to work in a team environment

? Thorough understanding of the Application Development Life Cycle and the ability to lead efforts in implementing life cycle practices

? Excellent decision making and problem solving skills

 

Project Specific Requirements:

? Mainframe (COBOL, IMS DB/DC, and DB2) ? IMS is required.

? Data Warehousing and COGNOS, would be a plus
