Business Systems Analyst I

Business Systems Analyst I
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Defining, facilitating, implementing, maintaining and supporting Information-Systems solutions to meet business needs.
- Conducting research and analysis of business requirements, problems and available technologies to define systems solutions that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Using appropriate research tools to analyze business requirements and problems.
- Performing cost-benefit analysis.
- Devising and/or modifying procedures based on computer-equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and format of desired results.
- Understanding the business implications of technology solutions.
- Interfacing with System Developers and Programmers in developing Information Systems.
- Participating in Testing and Quality-Assurance functions.
- Researching, analyzing and providing recommendations regarding the use of new technologies.
- Providing others with analysis for use in decision-making processes that have a minor to moderate impact on Information Systems within assigned department and/or work-group.
- Defining scope, business-function requirements and Business-Systems specifications.
- Assisting with the testing and implementation of small- to medium-sized solutions.
- Researching and investigating a variety of unusual problems and/or questions.
- Interviewing, questioning and probing to collect and document business requirements and criteria.
- Communicating requirements for the creation of technical specifications and solutions.
- Monitoring System-Development progress and preparing for initial system-release.
- Assisting in the coordination of Solution Testing to ensure attainment of desired business-outcomes (in accordance with established requirements).
- Resolving (with assistance) a variety of conventional problems, questions and/or situations in accordance with established criteria, practices and/or protocol.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Information Systems or related field (and/or equivalent experience).
- 1+ year(s) of Business-Systems Analysis and/or 3-5 years of Business-Operations experience.
- Working knowledge of computer systems, computer technologies and their relationship to various business functions.
- Intermediate understanding of industry-specific operations, processes and systems life-cycle methodology.
- Knowledge of a variety of industry-specific systems and their interdependencies.
- Effective analytical and verbal/written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
