Business Systems Developer II

Position Purpose:

Provide technical assistance in implementing business systems in a specific functional area.  Assist with the review and evaluation of proposed upgrades to Zebra?s business systems and related applications from other software suppliers.

 

Description:Work with a team with business system analysts in the development and support of in-house developed and purchased software applications.Develop and maintain functional design documentation.Assess work and meet deadlines; raise issues; develop alternatives and drive to closure, follow through on action items; and keep scope awareness.Analyze, design, and implement custom reports, screens, menus to meet approved use case and functional design specification.Insure that Zebra IS data security standards are adhered to and maintained.Create and maintain technical documentation of IS developed applications and procedures per documented standards.Resolve complex issues/problems by self or with vendor support.Adhere to Zebra IS?s policies, procedures, and development and project management methodologies.Develop recommendations for development process improvements.Leadership in the following areas:

? Act as a development team lead for project initiatives.

? Provide technical support and subject matter expertise for existing business systems.Support project management requirements:Estimate efforts for assigned tasks.Proactively communicate to management when project tasks and timelines can not be met.

Maintenance of customer issues and requests utilizing Zebra IS?s help desk system.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

 

Experience:

? 5-7 years in programming and application development and integration

? 2+ years Java Development

 

Skills Required:

Knowledge and practical experience with Oracle?s PL/SQL Cartridge, PL/SQL, SQL Oracle Forms and Reports.Knowledge and practical experience with J2EE & JSP. Knowledge and practical experience in web development tools and technologies, including HTML and DHTML, JavaScript Web.Knowledge in ASP, C/C++, and Visual Basic.Knowledge of service-oriented architectures and their implementation.Knowledge of software development process models such as RUP, Waterfall.Ability to integrate applications utilizing XML based web services, application integration adapters, or EDI communication methods.Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision.

Must have ability to lead and multi-task in a highly matrix-ed organization.

Some travel may be required for limited periods of time
