Business/Technical Analyst

Comsys IT Services is currently seeking a qualified Business/Technical Analyst to work remotely from any US City.

Candidate will serve in an IT support/Business Analyst type role that can also help in process develop and management. 

 Ability to manage a Support Ticket QueueAbility to read log files and report issuesAbility to write functional and technical specificationsUnderstanding of ERP database structures (Relational Database) & QueriesMS Access knowledge / Advance Planning & Scheduling Tool Knowledge an asset (i2, Manugustics, BAAN Planner, SAP APO, Kinaxis)Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset as well.

 

Generally, applicant should be:Very thorough completing tasks and reporting results.Innovative (think for yourself, self-sufficient, identify issues, develop solutions) yet follow established standards and policies.Motivated to excel at the tasks assigned and grow the position.Excellent communication skills including working with international teams, documentation/written communication, etc.

 

Daily Tasks:Primary Manager of Trouble Tickets Queue (for APS application):Continue to refine and document trouble ticket queue management process.  On-going training and auditing for the rest of the team.Assign tickets to the appropriate team member.Follow-up with team members, Users, etc. and re-assign as needed.Escalate ticket including converting to "Change" tickets and coordinating with other groups and/or project managers.Generate and report on analysis of Trouble Ticket activity for the team and provide justification for breached tickets.

 

APS application User Account Management:Assure that new User and User account modification requests conform to policy.  Coordinate with Site Focals to resolve issues.Create new User accounts and modify User access/permissions as requested by Site Focals and/or management.On-going assessment of Users defined in the system, concurrent Users per Site and licensed Users.  Needed for User account auditing (see below).Generate and report on analysis of User account by Site.  Provide to team and to Site Focals.  Coordinate with Site Focals to address issues (incorrect access, exceeded licenses Users for Site, etc.).

 

APS application Resource Management:Continue to refine and document APS application Resource (Workbook, Filter, Plan, TaskFlow, ScoreCard, etc.) standards.  On-going training and auditing for the rest of the team each Site's Resource Authors.Complete regular cycle of auditing.Generate and report on analysis of Resources.  Address issues with appropriate teams.

 

ERP Data Auditing:Continue to refine and document ERP data auditing process.  On-going training for the rest of the team.Complete regular cycle of auditing for each Site.  Coordinate with ERP team and APS application team to resolve issues.Track errors for each Site for each audit cycle and suggest permanent solutions for re-occurring issues.

 

APS application Team Documentation:Assure that Team's documentation is up-to-date, follows a consistent format, accessible to all who require it, etc.Typically, maintained in MS-Word but may need to be converted to HTML or some other format in cases where others outside of our team require regular access.

 

 Future Tasks:System/Database/Application Administration:  Any experience is good since concepts are transferable.  Specifically, managing the Webplan Server (Data Server) database engine for RapidResponse and MS-SQL Server for Connection Services.  System monitoring & alerting, using IIS (FTP, http and web interface),

 

Application Development:  Mostly administration type scripting (BAT files, *.VBS. Visual Basic. .Net, etc.), some inter-system interface scripts and possibly web-based User interfaces via ASP (Active Server Pages).

 

Person will Travel up to 50%.
