C# Developer Contract to Perm
One of the top hedge funds in NYC located in Midtown Manhattan near Grand Central Station has an immediate need for 2 Senior C# Developers with experience in Fixed Income, or Derivatives, or Credit Derivatives, or other exotic tools, in their IT & operations department. This firm has been in business for over 10 years and manages over $8 Billion in assets. The project will start out as a 3 month contract, but once the candidate does well, it will move into a permanent role. The hourly rate for the developers will be about $70-80 per hour for the developers, but is negotiable. When the positions become permanent, the base salaries will range from 100-130K + a Bonus of 30-50%. Once the candidate is converted to a permanent employee, there are amazing perks for these positions. First, you will be eligible for a huge bonus, second, the benefits are very thorough & fully paid for by the company with no cost to the employee, third the company is still small enough that there is some serious growth potential.
.NET Developer
* 3-5 years experience programming in a .Net environment
using C# or VB.Net. We strongly prefer candidates who 'grew up' in an object-oriented programming environment using C#, Java, or C++ rather than structured VB or scripting environment. The person must have developed and supported production financial applications built on the .Net framework.
* Experience developing, implementing and supporting web
services and XML. We use XML, XSLT, and Schemas extensively in our web services environment. We need candidates who can hit the ground running with these technologies. Knowledge of Regular Expressions is a big plus.
* Experience building reports using Crystal Version 10 or
11. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven ability to create structured, drill down, and linked reports. They should also be able to imbed Crystal reports in .Net applications and deploy them as well as integrate reports with .Net web applications. Experience with Crystal Enterprise is a plus.
* Experience designing and building financial
applications, preferably around fixed income and derivative products. The person must be able to hold a conversation on various fixed income and credit derivative instruments such as bonds, swaps, bank debt instruments, and CFDs. They don't have to know all of these topics cold, but they do have to understand them well enough to hold a productive conversation with business users.
* Candidates must be very comfortable using Microsoft SQL
Server 2000 and stored procedures.
* Candidates must be able to clearly and concisely
communicate verbally and in writing. This is an absolutely essential skill. The person will work directly with our business users and possibly our client community so professional appearance and communications is very important.
* Candidate must have an assertive and outgoing
personality and be self-confident. They must have a proven record as a problem solver, and be known for tackling and resolving problems head-on.
* Candidates who have passed relevant industry recognized
technical certification examinations will have a strong advantage in this position. * We are moving toward using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006
and Microsoft SharePoint Server so experience with these products will be a plus.
Programmers are responsible for performing analysis, proposing design solutions, and delivering applications that solve business problems. Maintaining a close relationship to the business, the programmer will build reports, maintain .Net applications, contribute to a web-services, XML-based infrastructure, and report on project status. This is a fast-paced environment that requires people who can think on their feet, generate creative solutions, and turn solutions around quickly.
