COTS Help Desk Engineer

Summit Technologies Inc has an immediate opening for several jr to sr Application Help Desk Engineers in Reston, VA.

 

As the AMSS (Application Management Support Services) Help Desk Engineer they will be responsible for troubleshooting and answering customer inquires regarding the supported applications, including customizations that have been applied.  The Help Desk Associate needs to interface with the customer to follow through on issue resolution and support. The engineer will develop the knowledge and skills to become the product expert & liaison to our Level 3 Technical team and end customer

 

Job responsibilities:

? Lead product documentation initiatives, review product documentation, maintain an up to date product content.

? Create product FAQs and/or maintain an up to date FAQs by contributing new content throughout product life cycle and builds

? Represent AMSS in product testing, QA, release and build cycles.

? Assist QA team in  testing the product where AMSS manager deems necessary.

? Assist team with resolving product issues.

? Ability to handle a dynamic environment, be self motivated and proactive

? Assist team members with product knowledge and act as a product mentor to other team members.

? Lead product meetings, testing initiatives and customer requirements where applicable.

? Demonstrated ability to communicate well; with peers and users at all levels.

? Able to take direction and ask for assistance when needed

? Ability to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly

? Experienced supporting applications that run on an Oracle database, COTS, and custom applications developed in house.

 

Qualifications:

? B.S./B.A. or equivalent work experience

? On-call Rotation once every 6 - 8 weeks requiring pager access for 24 x 7 availability

? Post production support or help desk experience preferred

? 3 years or more IT experience

? Person must be eligible for DOD Secrete clearance

? No relocation assistance provided

? Must be a U.S. Citizen

? Willing to work 10:00am-6:00pm
