CVS, ClearCase - Configuration Management Engineer

This is a permanent, direct-hire position with  an insurance/travel company who is in the process of creating a new IT Center in Glendale.

 

They are seeking an Technical professional for their Maintain Services group.  This person would need Clearcase, CVS and Endevor experience, configuration management skills and some networking background.  The position pays $86-90K plus bonus.  An excellent benefit package is included.

 

Environment Management Summary


One environment is comprised of all of the system components required to run a business transaction (e.g. Add Member) from end to end. This includes servers for WebSeal, CUI, WBI, RoboEngine, TAM, JBIAS, APDS, eXstream, Informatica, TAM, Epiphany, Genesys, and First Logic. It also includes the mainframe Legacy and Huon CICS Regions with their corresponding DB2 databases as well as Oracle and LDAP repositories.

The environment management team is responsible for coordinating the upgrade and patches to the infrastructure (HW, OS, Baseline applications) of these environments as well as building and deploying the customized application components. The team also does software configuration management which is managing the tools and escalation procedures for the source code developed by our vendors.

The team supports 12 environments for Development, Unit Testing, System Testing, Integration Testing, Performance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and Training for Product View, Client View, and Auto. We also support similar testing in two environments for CSAA.COM.

The application components are supported in an n-tier configuration.

Support Efforts


Manage the source code in CVS, ClearCase and Endevor via software configuration management.

Build the executables from source for each of these applications in each of these environments.

Deploy the executables to each environment.

Trouble shoot deployment issues and environment issues.

Triage security, networking, HW, OS, base application, and custom application issues and either fix them or coordinate the fix with the appropriate resource.
 

Skill set

 

Network and.or Security Engineer background helpful.

 

Build and deployment of custom applications on the mid-range level. (these applications include Producer Compensation, Product View, Client View, Auto, Document Management, CRM, Information Management, etc.)

 

Ability to become front line support of most issues with these applications.

Breadth and depth of knowledge to learn our processes and tools so that we can eventually turn to this individual in highly critical, highly volatile situations.
