Cabling Tech
Are you in-between jobs right now? Would you like to earn some money working on short-term projects doing deployments while still looking for that full-time job? These types or projects could help put some money in your pocket while you are in-between jobs. If this sounds appealing to you, read on, Pomeroy has just this sort of thing.
Pomeroy is an IT Solutions Provider. Our PRO Department - Project Resource Office manages migrations, deployments and rollouts. These projects can be just one day to several months. The job responsibilities will range from basic PC Technician work to implementing a network and working with hubs/routers/switches.
Currently we are seeking a Cabling Technician that can run Cat5 cables in restaurants - in ceiling tile (8 foot ceilings). This technician will meet someone on site that will show the technician where to run the Cat5 cable, they will provide the ladder. The technician will then install the cable. There will be about 12-14 runs of about 50 feet. Technician will terminate them in data jacks and a central patch panel. These will connect to a PC, printer, kitchen monitors. There will be a video we can send you before you go on site so you can get a little better picture of what this project entails.
Compensation
You will be paid $18.00 per hour. If you are on site and complete the install in less than 6 hours, you will be paid a minimum of 6 hours. If it takes longer than 6 hours per install then you will be paid for the amount of time you are on site. Just know that if it's less than 6 hours, you will still be paid a minimum of 6 hours.
Schedule
There are several sites in the Savannah area that this technician will be doing. The start time is at 11:00pm and you will work until the site is complete. We are looking for the first site to go within the next week or so. We can schedule these sites around your schedule, but they must be done after hours - starting at 11:00pm.
Technician MUST be comfortable with installing Cat5 cable in ceilings/walls. You will be the only technician on site. It might be a good idea to bring a drill and drill bits as you may find that you need to drill a hole here and there and sometimes you may find that you need to go through sheet rock walls.
If you are in-between jobs right now this is a perfect way for you to earn some extra money. There will be other projects that come up along the way and as long as we know you are available for short term deployments we will continue to keep you working on these projects. This is a perfect job for those that are in-between right now or simply looking for supplemental income.
Interested candidates should email their resume to lkarloff@pomeroy.com
