The UBS Investment Bank based in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking a Demand Forecast Modeling Capacity Planning Business Analyst to manage the analysis of our global Data Center Capacity Planning Projects. The successful candidate will work as a key member of the new Investment Bank Technical Services team. This role will take ownership of the analytical models, trend analysis and guide the model development. Responsibilities will also include: validating & interpreting the data & output and presenting findings to all relevant parties.

The Bank's Server and Data Center Strategy function will introduce Capacity Planning for Business & Technology and Future State Scenario Planning. The models will be used to better understand the capacity and demand requirements on the global data center space. A prototype model has been developed that will form the basis of a decision support tool for our data center capacity management.

The Capacity Planning Analyst will be responsible for:

* Analyzing and determining capacity need requirements,

* Timing for implementations and

* Cost management analyses.

A view of the Bank's business and technology strategy and direction will need to be established from multiple sources and then fed in to the model for data center planning analysis. The analysis model will include:

* Extrapolation from the past

* Future technology trends from our architects and vendors

* Transaction volume expectations from our Business lines (and their IT support staff)

* Views from the Business on any new markets and product areas that they plan to attack

* Input from developers on their plans

* Input from Operational Risk on BCM requirements

* Advice from L&C on legal and regulatory developments

* Advice from UBS Group Strategic Analysis

A standard framework will be required to capture and track each business stream's strategy, enabling business analysis to be carried out that results in accurate quantitative predictions.

The overall view will provide the expected growth figures with both high & low growth and tracking of variances. Output from the framework will be used for Data Center Planning as well as for the formulation and validation of overall IT Infrastructure plans & budgets.

Basic Qualifications

* A Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Information Systems or closely related field of study.

* A minimum of 5 years related Business Analysis/Trend Analysis/Capacity Planning work experience. Previous experience in Data Center Capacity Planning is a decisive asset.

Preferred Qualifications

* Business Analysis skills with a technology background.

* Familiarity with Monte-Carlo model / simulation analysis.

* Proficiency in MS Office: MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access to be designed and used for data analysis.

* Strong client requirements and expectation management skills.

* Ability to interpret what business and IT is requesting and translate into a data input for the model.

* Knowledge of distributed computing and storage systems.

* Familiarity with IT Infrastructure in a capital markets business.

* Excellent quantitative skills.

* Strong interpersonal communication & presentation skills. Proficiency in written English.

* Ability to work in a global teamwork environment
