Catalog Specialist Supervisor

We are a privately owned E-Commerce business that distributes laboratory equipment, laboratory & office furniture, and laboratory & office supplies.  We have an immediate need for a supervisor to manage our Catalog Specialist (QA) division for the update of various venders? product lines to our website. This position is critical components to ensuring our inside/outside sales and customer service departments have all of the proper information available to them online to meet our high levels of customer service.

Job Summary:

 

This position involves the management of personnel who would be responsible for the update of various suppliers content, including products, accessories, service parts, pricing, and other detailed information.  Categorize and normalize content and assess the accuracy of the information provided by outside contractors.  Assist in the resolution of customer issues related to supplier content.  Serve as the face of direct IT/Product contact for the supplier base when the IT Department Supervisor is not on site.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

 

-  Coordinate the categorization, normalization, and enrichment of supplier product data between Catalog Specialist Personnel for sales and customer service employees, plus for review by the IT Supervisor

-  Load electronic catalogs and price list from vendors for previously entered product lines on our database

-  Proactively contact suppliers for content and pricing updates on a regular basis

-  Maintain familiarity with industry standards for catalog formats

-  Manage special projects and initiatives related to electronic cataloging

 

Position Requirements:

 

-  1-2+ years professional experience as a technician or any higher level position in a laboratory setting

-  BS degree is required; Degree in Life Sciences is preferred

-  Experience with data management and analysis is preferred

-  Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Working knowledge of MS Access and Dream Weaver

-  Excellent oral and technical writing skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, as well as organization and interpersonal skills are required

-  Ability to type a minimum of 50+ words per minute, plus have a general comprehension of basic HTML

-  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
