Certified Database Administrator – Level III
Certified Database Administrator ? Level III
The Office of Financial System and Analysis is seeking a Financial Systems Database Specialist to join our IT implementation team to manage all financial databases for applications developed and supported by the Bureau of Finance and Planning. The selected candidate will also be responsible to:
Define the infrastructure and data architecture for all internal financial databases (development, test, production)
Design, implement, support and manage all necessary security measures for internal financial systems (encryption, access management, storage management, communications)
Define, document and manage the data model for all internal finance applications
Create and maintain data dictionary for all internal finance databases
Consult on all data integration issues for projects that affect the Bureau of Finance and Planning
Mentor and train junior Finance and Planning technical staff in database and server skills
Consult with internal finance application developers on database issues
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on (i.e. not only classroom) experience managing production databases using SQL Server 2000 (minimum 3 years in addition to any classroom experience) in a Microsoft environment (VB.Net/IIS)
Certification in SQL Server 2005/2000
Working knowledge of SQL Server 2005
Experience in data security and encryption techniques and issues
Experience in designing the infrastructure for a highly available system (failover, disaster recovery)
Hands-on experience defining, implementing and supporting databases of at least the same size and complexity as those for which Finance and Planning is responsible
Hands-on experience with XML data exchange
Experience working as the primary support staff for critical systems
Experience in knowledge transfer and mentoring junior staff
