Chief Data Architect

Key Role: Oversee a portfolio of information assets at the division-level or higher. Assist a government client with establishing data management vision, goals, priorities, design principles, and operating policies in support of the enterprise mission and overall business goals. Participate in enterprise-level investment planning, especially in connection with the re-capitalization, retirement, modernization, or maintenance of information and information management assets. Participate in enterprise-level information technology roadmap planning and information technology governance activities in general. Advise a client on policies concerning information systems development life-cycle methodologies and documentation requirements, associated training, and competency-assessment policies for information technology staff.



Functional/Industry Knowledge:

-20+ years of experience in the information technology field with a background in working with database systems

-Ability to interact effectively as a peer with top management and other executive-level personnel

-Experience with a variety of system engineering methodologies and frameworks, DoDAF, FEA framework, and Zachman

-Knowledge of EAI, EII, SOA, or Web services, and various data standards and standardization bodies, including ISO, the Intelligence Community Metadata Working Group, and the Open Geospatial Consortium

-Experience with data quality principles, the roles and uses of data quality analysis and data cleansing tools, and associated Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) tools and vendors

-Knowledge of state-of-the-art security technologies and practices as they pertain to security accreditation in US government top-secret operating environments

-Knowledge of security concepts, including RBAC, Protection Levels, PKI, digital certificates, and database encryption

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education/Certifications or equivalent required:

MA or MS degree in CS, MIS, or a related field required

 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
