State Department Federal Credit Union ($863M) in Washington, DC is currently seeking a visionary leader to guide and direct its information technology operations.



Reporting to the President/CEO, this position is considered to be a strategic placement for the company, intended to help establish SDFCU as a leader in the market. The CIO will play a pivotal role in achieving the credit union?s long-term objective of serving members throughout the world.



As the technology expert, you will determine the initiatives, strategies and operating plan in partnership with the Senior Management Team. This collaborative environment is your opportunity to voice your opinion, find solutions, gain experience and influence decisions in all business areas of the Credit Union.



The ideal candidate will have in-depth, broad-based knowledge of information systems, preferably within a financial service institution and demonstrated excellence in leadership, management, design, planning and implementation. This position directs and manages multi-level staff and vendor relationships.



The candidate should have a record of achievement in ensuring the prompt and consistent delivery of products and services. In addition, the CIO will develop and enforce procedures to ensure the integrity, security and privacy of product and user information maintained by the Credit Union. Experience creating a business recovery plan to ensure timely and effective restoration of services in the event of a disaster is desired. Experience developing technology solutions in an online environment is a must.






 Required Skills



BS Degree in Related Field; MBA preferred. Minimum of 10 years IS industry experience with three of those years managing associates,
and 2 years experience in a financial institution.
Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of technology operations including network security, telecommunications and web applications.
Proven leadership ability with strong development processes and practices experience background.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills (both technical and non-technical).
Demonstrated background leading and managing critical projects.
