Cisco Network Design Engineer

Local company is looking for a Cisco Network Design Engineer.  Must have extensive Cisco experience and a background with designing and implementing LAN, WAN and VLAN's.  802.11 wireless experience important.  Further details include:

1) 6-8 years exp configuring, installing, troubleshooting switches and routers

(They use Cisco 2600, 3800, 7200 routers and Cisco 1900, 2924 and 6500 catalyst switches)

2) Must have a Cisco certification OR be working towards one.  (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)

3) Exp with Cisco router protocol, BGP, EIGRP and OSPF

4) SNA exp with IBM 3270 controllers and terminal

5) exp with network protocol analysis using Sniffer or similar device

6) Familiar with cabling standards and technologies

7) exp with network services (DNS, DHCP, Active Director)

8) Exp w/ configuring network monitoring software or platforms

9) Strong documentation skills using Visio, MS Suite, etc.

10) Exp with project management

11) Wireless network knowledge of Cisco and Symbol hardware

12) Must be self motivated, strong organization skills, able to communicate, strong customer service skills
