ClearCase Senior Software Configuration Mgr

UBS is a leading global financial services firm. Global Asset Management provides traditional and alternative investment management solutions to private clients, institutional investors and financial intermediaries worldwide.

The UBS Investment Bank based in Stamford, Connecticut is seeking a ClearCase Senior Software Configuration Manager to work as a key member of the FIRC (Fixed Income Rates & Currencies) IT team. The successful candidate will become a member of a global team of software engineers supporting the FIRC IT Securities Dept.

The primary responsibility will be coordinating, assisting with configuration management and release engineering activities. Other duties will include the maintenance & development of in-house tools including defect management and continuous build & test processes.

We encourage the ability to think independently and work in a team collaborative environment with minimal supervision. Your ideas and knowledge will be shared with many of the SCM professionals. The role is more geared towards Development and Configuration as the ClearCase infrastructue hardware support, backups, interop solution. etc. is handled by a separate hardware focused group.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assist release activities and become the backup SCA for FIRC Securities.

* Future defect management tool enhancements.

* Continuous build process maintenance and development, including distribution.

* Own the test environment release process.

* Assist in strategic direction and change.

Basic Qualifications
Four year bachelors degree or international equivalent required in Computer Science or related discipline required. Minimum of 3 years of ClearCase SCM.

Preferred Qualifications

We require:

* A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field of study. A Master's degree is a decisive asset.

* A minimum of 3+ years related work experience and indepth knowledge of ClearCase SCM.

* Previous experience working within the Financial Services industry, Investment Banking experience & knowledge strongly preferred.

At least 3 years experience in 3 of the following:

* 3+ years of project Configuration Management experience.

* Experience using Rational ClearCase for Windows NT and UNIX.

* Experience in either Python / Perl or other similar scripting language

* SQL, preferably Sybase,

* Good grasp of Windows and Solaris OS.

* Ant build tools and continuous build processes

* Web CGI programming and deployment

* Experience with ClearQuest and/or Marimba Castanet a bonus.

* Knowledge and understanding of using Java in large projects very desirable.

At least 3 years experience in 3 of the following:

* An understanding of the principles of Configuration Management.

* Scripting Language Experience eg perl / python / tcl.

* Experience with projects involving shared development at multiple sites highly desirable.

* Databases (RDBMSs)

* Distributed systems

* Object Oriented Design and Programming.
