Clinical Reporting Analyst II

    JOB SUMMARY:  

 

The Clinical Reporting Analyst II is responsible for building reports and performing analysis to support the design and measurement of clinical quality improvement programs.  Analyzes data from the transactional processing systems and develops tools to identify interventions and monitor progress based on a basic understanding of managed care quality improvement process and regulatory measurement including HEDIS and NCQA. 

 

 KEY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
Works with clinical and health services managers to identify reporting requirements needed to support quality improvement programs and operational procedures of a complex nature.
Writes stored procedures and queries, using software such as SQL, Crystal Reports and ReportNet and OLAP tools such as Cognos Powerplay.
Designs and builds OLAP cubes to retrieve data and perform analysis.
Stays current with regulatory requirements for healthcare quality measurement.
Develops project plans, communication plans, risk analysis, schedules and other project management deliverables.
Uses data retrieval and data analysis skills in SQL, OLAP, and reporting tools to create reports, analyze results and present findings.
Provides status reporting to the project management.



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

Education and Experience:

 
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.
A minimum of four (4) years information systems experience in managed healthcare, insurance operations and/or public health is required.

 Competencies and Attributes:

 
Strong working knowledge of MS tools, including MS Office products, MS Access, MS Project, SQL Server, and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, ReportNet required.
Familiarity with relational data base concepts and OLAP technology required.
Experience with statistical software such as SAS or SPSS required.
Knowledge of HEDIS, NCQA or other healthcare quality measurement methods required.
Must have strong communications skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to work independently on complex projects.
Strong technical and analytical ability required
