Computer Network Specialist II - H00036

The University of Maryland?s Public Safety Training and Technical Assistance Program (PSTTAP) is seeking a Computer Network Specialist II.  The successful candidate will be assigned to the State of Maryland?s Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION (ITCD) in Reisterstown, Maryland.  The DPSCS is in the process of improving the technical services that it provides to its organizations.  In particular, it is striving to maintain and provide information and communications services throughout DPSCS to criminal justice agencies and to the public.

 

The successful candidate will fill the position ofComputer Network Specialist II ? Server Administrator for the Enterprise Infrastructure Unit.  This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to the DPSCS users and staff through documentation and resolution of technical issues and problems to ensure DPSCS systems are operational and available at all times. This position will install, configure and maintain hardware/software using ITCD policy, and procedures. This is an essential position that may require 24x7 on-call availability.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:One to two years experience in Windows server administration. Experience in Active Directory, Exchange and/or SQL a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education: Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology related field.

Licenses, Registration and Certificates: Employees may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a valid motor vehicle operator?s license in the State of Maryland.
