Comsec Auditors

Utilizing a DHS approved COMSEC audit checklist, the contractor shall evaluate organizational COMSEC accounts, looking at accounting methods and supporting documentation, accountability of property, adequacy of security provided to classified and CCI (Controlled Cryptographic Items) equipment and keying material. The Contractor shall conduct in and out briefings of on site DHS management personnel before and after each audit or visit. The contractor shall also evaluate the training of organizational COMSEC managers and users, and availability of required publications. The contractor will be provided National and DHS policies and procedure publications to serve as a basis for evaluating the accounts. The contractor must be experienced in conducting COMSEC audits and familiar with National COMSEC accounting policies from NSA. The contractor shall prepare a written report on the results of each audit and provide it to the DHS COR within 10 working days of the completion of each audit trip; approximately fifty audits will be conducted every 12 months. The Contractor may be required to assist the Government in conducting of investigations of COMSEC incidents and losses of COMSEC material at the behest of the DHS COR. The contractor shall assist in the preparation of investigative reports of COMSEC incidents or losses of COMSEC material.

Applicants selected will be subjected to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The salary specs vary based on years of experience but range from $55-90k.
