Customer Engineer -- Effingham IL area

This is a full-time direct-hire opportunity with a global leader in business hardware and software solutions in the Effingham IL area. Overtime, benefits, paid training, a company vehicle, gas card, Blackberry, and phone are typically provided.

 

A complete background, driving record and drug screen will be required.

 

Customer Engineer II: Perform hardware troubleshooting and repair of point-of-sale systems, including registers, controllers (servers), scanner/scales, laser printers, and ATM machines.
Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment at the customer location.
Maintain appropriate maintenance parts and account for parts usage, time, and mileage. Responsible for taking care of company assets including a van, laptop, phone, pager, inventory, and tools.
Self-manage in an on-call environment, meeting SLA?s, and communicating problem resolution/status to clients in a manner that keeps a high level of customer satisfaction.

 

Requirements: To be considered for this position applicants must have...
at least one year of hands-on professional experience providing hardware, software and network support.
Valid driver's license
... and must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and on-call times.
