Job Title: DB2 Developer
Job Location: Cambridge, MA
Pomeroy IT Solutions has been in the IT industry since 1981. Today, we employ over 4,000 people, have 26 locations and provide companies with IT solutions ranging from application development to storage strategies to desktop management.
Job Duration: 5 months
Requirements
- Quickly learn system and environment.
- Ensure adherence to data standards
- Ensure adherence to development methodology
- Participate project meetings as needed
- Based on the business and functional specification provide technical
design and specification
- Schedule design review and integrate feedbacks into design
- Code and unit test (the full path) for the DB2 procedures and Unix
scripts
- Schedule code review and apply feedbacks into programs.
- Work with DBA and team members to setup release test environment
- Release test the program - end to end
- Support UAT and modify code as needed
- Document test cases needed for the ASCA certification
- Provide support document
- Deliver tasks/projects on time
- Backfill full time employees
- Provide secondary production support - analyze data issues and
identify
root causes
- Follow up on issues and drive things into completion
Technical Skills:
Using DB2 (V8 and up) stored procedures to process data, apply business
rules, validate data, extract data for feed, catch and log errors. If
no
DB2 experience need to have deep relational database knowledge and
skills
Creating views for collecting information based on business requirement
optimized on performance tuning.
Using Unix shell script to process data files, call stored procedures,
send feeds etc.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Be able to work
independently and drive issues into completion.
