Bull Services has enjoyed a strong partnership with the State of New York MMIS Fiscal Agent since 2000, and we are looking to add to our Rensselaer-based staff in the areas of End-User Support of its Medicaid data warehouse and End-User Training on various Business Intelligence applications and tools.  Specifically, we are looking for local professionals with experience in Data Warehousing and analytical tools. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a great customer on a cutting edge business intelligence solution.  The following are key responsibilities of this position.

 

Participate as a member of an existing Help Desk team, providing end user support and assistance to customer?s business analysts on the effective use of the State's Teradata-based Medicaid Data Warehouse and its suite of business intelligence tools.

Develop and deliver end user training on a variety of query, reporting, mapping, data mining, statistical analysis and other advanced analytical tools.

Develop on-line training courses using state-of-the-art web-based training development software.

Work with functional users to specify new reports for addition to the data warehouse library of predefined reports; and develop, test and implement new reports

Work with functional users to help users develop complex queries to address specific business problems.

Work with end users of the Data Warehouse and other customer IT personnel to help identify additional data for the data warehouse and provide input to the Data Warehouse design team

Provide hands-on mentoring and guidance to customer?s end users in our Rensselaer-based DW Resource Center

Participate in processes to ensure a consistent, well-managed, and integrated data warehouse infrastructure

Work in a team environment with other Bull Services team members and the customer?s Data Warehouse users.

 

 PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

 

BS degree in MIS/Computer Science or equivalent experience

Minimum 3-5 years work experience in information technology

Strong communication skills with the ability and desire to help others learn business intelligence technology and use it effectively.

Government (State, Federal) experience a plus

Healthcare experience a plus

Experience with relational database technology such as Teradata, Oracle, or DB2

Experience with business intelligence applications, such as Hummingbird BI Query for querying and report creation is desirable; or with other business intelligence tool such as Cognos, Business Objects, Microstrategy,

SQL skills desired
